The Rockingham Swimming Club was founded in 1946 - 63 years old as of 2009 (see HISTORY here), and today is a proud Australian club with a strong U.K. connection, with many second and third generation Aussies making up a large proportion of its members. We are currently
the largest competitive swimming club in Western
Australia and still growing. As at 2009, we have
169 competitive and recreational swimmers (pool and
open water) and we are growing fast.
The Club trains
out of new facilities at Aqua Jetty in Warnbro, a
community next door to Rockingham. We train 50
weeks of the year and our season is split into
Winter (May - Sept) and Summer (Oct - April). We
only break in the third and fourth week of April
for senior swimmers, and all of April for
Juniors. All our coaches
are accredited through the Australian Swimming
Coaches and Teachers Association and have current
Police and Working with Children clearances.
We have a
variety of different training squads to suit every
age and type of swimmer, and training equipment and
clothing is available from the club's uniform shop
and also from the Aqua Jetty shop. Our Club rooms are just outside near the outdoor 50m pool and are open/manned as follows: MONDAY 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM TUESDAY 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM WEDNESDAY 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM THURSDAY 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM FRIDAY 4:00 PM - 6:30 PM SATURDAY 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM To find/contact our club by phone or email, please click here.

TEAM Our HEAD COACH,
GORDON SHAW, has 20+ years of qualified coaching
experience under his belt and a large number of
State and National level swimming champions to his
credit. He is one of
only a few "silver accredited" swimming coaches in
Western Australia. Adored by our swimmers, he also
has the respect of all club members and parents and
the Club is very proud and pleased to have
him!
TRAINING/SQUADS We have some 7-8 squads of which three are classified senior competitive. We offer training on every day of the week except Sunday - there are morning and afternoon sessions and which ones would be applicable for you depends on which squad you will be in. Our squads, ranging from Junior right through to Senior, have different length training sessions, ranging from 2 x 1 hour sessions/week up to 10 x 1.5 and 2 hour sessions/week for the very senior squad, and everything in between. This will be advised by the Head Coach. Click here for information.
COMMITTEE The new 2009-2010 Committee comprises the following positions and holders:
We would welcome any other parents who are interested in becoming more involved with the management and administration of the club, as there is plenty of opportunity to assist - even if your preference is to not sit on the committee. (We do understand that many parents have day jobs and other activities that take up their time, but we are all in the same boat and many hands make light work!)
